I gave up making my kid's birthday cakes a few years ago. For all the decorations they like, it just takes way too long. Nathan isn't a store bought cake fan. This Kit-Kat cake was a good compromise. Home made, but really quick and easy to put together. To celebrate we went to Trafalga for some miniature golf (the plan was his traditional go-kart riding, but the lines were just way too long). Then it was on to Brick Oven. The best pizza around! Fun and sort of relaxing.
For Christmas Jon's parents gave Jon and Nathan tickets for the Jazz vs Kings game, which was the day before Nathan's birthday. At the last minute Jon got more tickets from work. Anika and Tanner were able to join them to watch their favorite player: Jimmer Fredette. Not a bad role model for my 11 year old to have.
Happy Birthday Nathan!
